Welcome to Dhikala Jungle Safari

2Nights/3Days Bijrani Tour Packages

The Bijrani zone is one of the most picturesque and wildlife-rich areas of Jim Corbett National Park. Known for its diverse flora, thick sal forests, large grasslands, and high chances of tiger sightings, Bijrani offers an authentic wildlife experience. This 2Nights/3Days tour package gives visitors the opportunity to stay inside the forest at the Bijrani Forest Rest House (FRH) and enjoy multiple open jeep safaris in the core zone. The area is also rich in birdlife and is an ideal choice for nature lovers, photographers, and wildlife enthusiasts.

Bijrani used to be a favorite hunting ground during the British era, and now it is a major tourist zone managed for conservation and eco-tourism. Only a limited number of jeeps are allowed in each shift, and all safaris are accompanied by registered guides. The package is designed to offer the best of morning and evening safaris while staying in a government FRH that is located in the heart of the forest.

Location

The Bijrani entry gate is known as Amdanda Gate, located just 1 kilometer from Ramnagar. After entering the gate, the FRH is located around 12 kilometers deep inside the zone. The road from the entry point to the FRH passes through dense forest, shallow riverbeds, and open chaurs, giving ample chances to spot animals during transit. The location of Bijrani makes it highly accessible, yet deeply immersive once inside.

Attraction

Bijrani’s major attraction lies in its wildlife density and varied topography. The zone includes thick forest, water holes, grassland areas, and hilly terrain, making it ideal for spotting tigers, elephants, deer, jackals, sloth bears, and more. Bird watchers can spot species like hornbills, eagles, woodpeckers, and kingfishers. Due to limited vehicle entry and FRH-based night stays, the zone offers a peaceful and intimate wildlife experience. The safari routes are rich in sightings and include several popular spots like Machaan Point, Bijrani Chaurs, and water bodies where animals frequently come to drink.

Flora & Fauna

Bijrani is known for its lush sal forests, mixed deciduous trees, bamboo thickets, and wide grasslands. The topography supports a healthy population of prey animals like spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, and wild boar, which in turn attract predators like tigers and leopards. Reptiles like pythons, cobras, and monitor lizards are also found in the region. Amphibians and butterflies are abundant, especially after the monsoon. The flora includes tall trees, medicinal herbs, and flowering plants, making the zone rich in biodiversity and perfect for nature trails.

Night Stay

The Bijrani Forest Rest House provides a unique opportunity to spend nights inside Corbett National Park. Surrounded by dense forest and free of urban noise, the FRH is a government-maintained lodge with basic yet comfortable amenities. It includes double-bed rooms with attached bathrooms and limited power backup. There is a forest department-managed canteen offering vegetarian meals. Staying overnight allows early access to the jungle routes and greater chances of viewing wildlife in the serene morning hours. Indian tourists must book the rest house 45 days in advance, and foreign nationals can book 90 days before the intended stay.
