Welcome to Dhikala Jungle Safari

2Nights/3Days Dhikala Tour Packages

Dhikala is the most sought-after tourism zone inside Jim Corbett National Park, known for its breathtaking landscapes, open grasslands, and dense sal forests. This 2Nights/3Days Dhikala Tour Package offers a perfect combination of wilderness, adventure, and comfort for wildlife lovers. It includes stay at the Forest Rest House located deep inside the core zone, where tourists can enjoy multiple Jeep safaris, bird watching, and an immersive jungle experience.

The Dhikala zone is rich in biodiversity and provides excellent opportunities to spot the Royal Bengal Tiger, wild elephants, leopards, and a variety of herbivores. It is considered the heart of Corbett and is accessible only through Dhangarhi Gate. Staying inside Dhikala gives tourists a privileged access to remote safari routes and early morning drives where animal sightings are more frequent.

Whether you are a nature photographer, adventure traveler, or someone seeking peace amid pristine wilderness, this package is ideal for an authentic wildlife vacation. All safaris are conducted in registered open gypsies accompanied by experienced guides approved by the forest department. Meals are served at the FRH canteen, and the rooms offer basic but comfortable accommodation.

Location

Dhikala is located 32 kilometers from the Dhangarhi Gate and approximately 18 kilometers from Ramnagar town. The journey from the entry gate to Dhikala FRH is a safari in itself, taking tourists through riverbeds, forest corridors, and open chaurs. Entry is allowed only during designated hours, and pre-booking of the forest rest house is mandatory through the official Corbett website.

Attraction

The Dhikala zone's main attraction lies in its rich ecosystem. The chances of encountering tigers, elephants, deer, jackals, and crocodiles are high. The iconic Dhikala Watch Tower gives a panoramic view of the valley and is an excellent spot for wildlife observation. The Ramganga reservoir flowing through this zone is a birdwatcher's paradise. The zone is known for sightings of endangered species, including gharials, vultures, and fishing eagles. The FRH location ensures unmatched morning and evening safari experiences compared to day visitors from outside zones.

Flora & Fauna

Dhikala offers a diverse and dense habitat. The forests are dominated by sal trees, grasslands known as chaurs, and riverine belts near the Ramganga River. This environment supports large populations of herbivores including spotted deer, sambar, and wild boar, which are often followed by carnivores such as leopards and tigers. Birds like serpent eagles, owls, storks, kingfishers, and migratory species can be spotted frequently. Reptiles including Indian Python, cobras, and crocodiles are found near water bodies, along with various amphibians and lizards.

Night Stay

The Dhikala Forest Rest House is one of the oldest accommodations in Corbett and offers one of the most immersive experiences. Surrounded by dense forest and river beds, this FRH gives tourists a rare chance to live inside the core area of a tiger reserve. All bookings must be made well in advance as availability is limited. Indian nationals can book up to 45 days in advance and foreign nationals up to 90 days before their visit. The rest house has a canteen that provides basic vegetarian meals. Rooms are well-maintained and provide attached washrooms and limited power backup through generators.
