Location

Dhikala is located around 32 kilometers inside the forest from Dhangarhi Gate, which is the official entrance for this zone. Dhangarhi Gate is situated approximately 18 kilometers from Ramnagar. The drive to Dhikala is an adventure in itself, crossing riverbeds, valleys, and dense forest stretches that often offer early sightings of wild animals.

Attractions

The main attraction of Dhikala is its raw and untouched wilderness. It is the best zone for spotting Royal Bengal Tigers, herds of elephants, leopards, wild boars, hog deer, and numerous bird species. Dhikala Watch Tower offers panoramic views of the grasslands where wildlife is commonly seen. The zone is also home to the Ramganga River, crocodiles, gharials, and migratory birds. The Interpretation Center at Dhikala adds an educational element to the visit.

Flora & Fauna

The flora of Dhikala zone is composed mainly of dense sal forests, riverine vegetation, and expansive grasslands known as chaurs. These open areas are natural grazing fields for herbivores like spotted deer, sambhar, and wild boar, which in turn attract predators such as tigers and leopards. The zone also houses a wide variety of birds including vultures, kingfishers, hornbills, eagles, and many migratory species during the winter. Reptiles such as crocodiles, monitor lizards, Indian pythons, and gharials are commonly spotted along the Ramganga River.

Night Stay

Staying inside the Dhikala Forest Rest House is a unique privilege offered to a limited number of guests each day. Located deep inside the forest, this FRH offers comfortable rooms, a dining canteen, and electricity during fixed hours. The experience of hearing jungle sounds at night, sunrise from the watch tower, and uninterrupted exposure to wildlife makes the night stay unforgettable. The rest house must be booked in advance through the official Corbett Park portal. Indian visitors can book up to 45 days in advance, while foreign nationals can book up to 90 days before the intended stay.

3Nights/4Days Dhikala Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Ramnagar. Meet our representative and transfer to a nearby resort for freshening up. Post-lunch, proceed towards Dhangarhi Gate for park entry. Enjoy your jungle drive toward Dhikala FRH with chances of early wildlife spotting. Evening check-in at FRH. Dinner and overnight stay inside the forest.

Day 2

Early morning Jeep Safari in the core Dhikala zone. Return for breakfast. Leisure time or explore the watch tower and grassland on foot under guide supervision. Post-lunch, enjoy an afternoon safari in the deeper parts of Dhikala. Return and rest. Overnight stay at FRH.

Day 3

Morning Jeep Safari covering grasslands, river banks, and sal forest trails. After breakfast, relax at the FRH. Optional birdwatching or photography. Afternoon safari covering high tiger movement areas. Return by evening. Dinner and overnight stay at FRH.

Day 4

Wake up early for the final safari. Enjoy the serene forest as the sun rises. Check out from FRH after breakfast and drive back to Dhangarhi Gate. Transfer back to Ramnagar for departure or onward journey.
