Location

Jim Corbett National Park is located near Ramnagar, in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is well connected via rail and road from Delhi and other major cities. The safari gates such as Bijrani, Jhirna, Dhela, and Garjia are all within 10-25 kilometers radius from Ramnagar, and each offers a distinctive safari landscape ranging from riverine belts, dense forests, hills, to expansive grasslands.

Attractions

The main attraction of the Corbett Jungle Safari is the chance to see the elusive Bengal Tiger in its natural environment. Other notable attractions include herds of elephants, sloth bears, jackals, wild boars, spotted deer, sambhars, barking deer, langurs, and crocodiles along the Ramganga River. Bird watchers can spot more than 600 species of resident and migratory birds including hornbills, vultures, kingfishers, and fish eagles. Each zone presents different biodiversity, topography, and safari charm.

Flora & Fauna

Jim Corbett National Park is rich in biodiversity. The park’s vegetation consists mainly of sal forests, mixed deciduous forests, bamboo clusters, and grasslands (chaurs). The diverse terrain supports a thriving population of herbivores, which in turn attracts predators like leopards and tigers. Aquatic life is abundant near rivers and lakes, and marsh crocodiles and gharials can be seen basking along the banks. The ecosystem also supports a wide variety of insects, butterflies, and reptiles.
